well to me is really cool but i'm agree with volzilla i think you need to make him a litle more big is not so hard you can do this just try Smile




ok i made an easy edit in 5 minute


i just make some cut and paste


you can see 3 sprites i only edit the sprite number 3


how you can see is more tall and a litle more big i don't know if you like him but if you like you can use it Smile

the red like is the first cut and paste i did



the green like in secondo




and the violet is the third



you need to cut that zone and put in up for make the sprites a little more big in 5 minute you solve the problem

So glad to see Riddick finally making an appearance. He was one of the first characters I stated that I wanted to see mugenized at some point in history. I think it would be cool if you had him fight with his daggers all the time, then could get them hit out of your hands, similar to Cody from SF and his dagger. If not that, then maybe have a hyper that allows him to pull them out for a set time and allow for large damage dealing combos with the blades. Also would be cool if he had a hyper that twisted a tea cup into the opponents chest. Maybe you could use the hell hound creature too that he befriends as a special move or assist, similar to how Strider Hiryu summons his assist specials.
Also, this is off topic, but after seeing the above gif with Riddick and The Crow, The Crow's head seems to be too high on his shoulders, at least in that stance, and needs to come down a tad for the proportions to look correct. Anyways, best of luck man, I hope you kick a$$ on this project. He could be such an awesome character if you do him justice.

I had made a couple sprites and some concept notes for the same project almost 5 years ago, most of which I lost to time and dead computers.

I'll just dump them for the hell of it.  Accept or ignore at your own discretion.


Riddick is a character that excels in close-range domination and dramatic intimidation.  Doing him justice means both of those have to be in spades.  Bright side is that Vin Diesel, having made both Butcher Bay and the Dark Athena games, has no shortage of voice lines and content to be ripped and used.

If you can code it, he would be great at countering melee attacks, where his light attacks, doing less damage, interrupt generally-higher priority attacks of enemies already in motion.  Also, you could capture his evasiveness by giving him a hitbox-free roll on the ground, forward or backward, and maybe a jump where he uses his blades to hook into the side of the screen adjacent to him, before leaping over the enemy and behind them.

A grapple concept could be that he tackles his enemy and rips into them several times with his ulaks, though I definitely agree with the idea of him using a standard homemade shiv as his base weapon.

While he is definitely going to be a point-blank fighter, in the event he needs some space, you could have him kick up a shotgun (like the ones in Butcher Bay), from the floor for a light bit of immediate damage, then fire a single round that forces them back and knocks them to the ground.  He can throw the shotgun away from there, which would probably just fade and disappear as it gets to the floor.  It would also be appropriate that, if someone else grapples him, he’d have the option to break it by stabbing them a couple times before launching them away from him.

As far as hypers, one you can’t really skip out on would be Riddick ducking down as the screen goes dark with a couple alien echoes, taking his goggles off and giving a quote, right before the screen is rushed by Bioraptors from Pitch Black.  It would be relatively similar in execution to the Alien Warrior’s hyper (at 0:50).  I also agree that the crushed-teacup hyper could be really cool, and an insane-high damage one if executed at point-blank range, like Jill Valentine’s summoning of Tyrant.  While I’m definitely for the idea, I would limit spawning of 2 hellhounds to a hyper attack, where they both can soak up a little extra damage, instead of being something like Jill’s 1-hit cereberus-helper summons.  These things are supposed to be incredibly durable and having them fall away immediately would draw from that.  It’d also give Riddick options between rushing with them or falling back and letting them take the heat while he reevaluates how to approach the situation, or uses ranged attacks like throwing knives.  One last hyper, using those ulaks, would be him bringing them out and rushing the other character (their only chance to interrupt it being this mad sprint towards them), where he just goes to town slashing the living hell out of them and tearing them apart.

Riddick is, like, the quintessential melee master and he's never been in MUGEN.  It's a tragedy.

Great idea to bring Riddick to MUGEN, my only complain its the size of the char. It would be better a little Taller, and the torso and arms looks too weak and skinny. i know you can correct that before made more sprites for Him. Good Luck

So...
First of all, i find coder for Riddick, he russian guy and we work on Riddick together.
Playing Enemy,Rjiggler thaks for ideas and i must say what our thoughts are similar.
The base is very small, and I squeeze out of it the maximum possible.
His style is based primarily on melee grab in conjunction with a knife.
Hyper will use his ability to see in the dark.
Maybe we'll add a firearm.
Unfortunately glasses will not.
It's stupid to carry a cup for fight.

Now I watch movies and play games and... riddick dnt look how rock.
He has a great body, a combination of strength and mobility, he dont look how superman=)
and he not metahuman, and in mugen he's look nice with another human (not jugernaut, superman, and another M|DC guys hero)
Base done already and now im work on spec and hyp's
And im need help, we need Sounds from games or movies.
Anyone have sound rips?

The boots of riddick would be perfect to match with Crow's original movie outfit.

Feedback: I hope you dont get mad bro.; but the rigth arm of the standing sprites made Riddick looks weak (still to skinny). IMO

Im finish sprites for Riddick on 95% (5% for if he will need more sprite's)
Now Darkman (coder) coded hypper's and specials (he done base already)
