6-year ago I mugenized and released a Splatterhouse1 final boss Hell Chaos ( downloadable here:  https://onedrive.live.com/?id=7DB65F02B0BBD12E!462&cid=7DB65F02B0BBD12E ), these days I want to re-visit Splatterhouse1 and I have chosen this Poltergeist boss as my second 2nd Splatterhouse mugenization.....yet it seems to be harder than Hell Chaos to mugenize ho ho ho.... Very Happy

=> I tried to rip everything needed for this "Custom Splatterhouse1 Poltergeist" mugenization,
   from the arcade version with MAME, and I planned to borrow something from otzkai's Rick but
   otzkai seems to be not happy about that......
=> a dedicated MUGEN stage was included for this "Custom Splatterhouse1 Poltergeist"
   * "Custom Splatterhouse1 Poltergeist" is not working in all other MUGEN stages though...
     so, please put this line when adding "Custom Splatterhouse1 Poltergeist" to your MUGEN:
     Custom_Splatterhouse1_Poltergeist, stages/Custom_Splatterhouse1_Poltergeist.def
=> "Custom Splatterhouse1 Poltergeist" is not supposed to fight with/against itself, so using
   "Custom Splatterhouse1 Poltergeist" as a Partner or an Opponent is not going to work...
=> about the BGM for the dedicated MUGEN stage, I included both the PC-Engine version and the
   arcade version, and the PC-Engine version is the default one (I prefer it more):
   bgmusic = sound/Custom_Splatterhouse1_Poltergeist_PCE.mp3
   ;bgmusic = sound/Custom_Splatterhouse1_Poltergeist_Arcade.mp3
=> this "Custom Splatterhouse1 Poltergeist" is a CPU/A.I. only MUGEN character, as I don't really
   know how to make it playable by MUGEN human players.......so it can be considered a short mini-
   MUGEN bonus game


MUGEN Issues:
- in the source game, within a brief start-up time, the screen shakes heavily up and down and Rick is forced to do small jumps;
  in MUGEN, since platforming mechanism is not generally do-able, I must then try to put Enemy/P2 in some custom small jump
  state during so
- the Enemy/P2 facing/turning in MUGEN seems not to be possible to change to follow that of the source game
- after all the Poltergeist effects are cleared, the Poltergeist Spirit tries to escape the room through the window,
  sometimes due to screen moving, the Poltergeist Spirit might miss the proper escape position, yet, I have already
  added some insurance MUGEN code just to make sure that it can still escape even it misses the window

MUGEN Gameplay:

"Custom Splatterhouse1 Poltergeist" is just a noisy spirit created by Terror Mask.  It can only control some household
objects like Glass, Candle, Knife, Chair, Empty Can, Whiskey Bottle, Picture, etc... for making attacks.
And, all object attacks are not guardable/blockable.

Household objects stats:
- Glass (2 sets)
  => each one deals 50 MUGEN damage
  => it cannot be "destroyed"
- Candle (5)
  => each one deals 50 MUGEN damage
  => each takes 1 hit to "destroy"
- Empty Can (a bunch)
  => each one deals 50 MUGEN damage
  => each takes 1 hit to "destroy"
- Whiskey Bottle (a bunch)
  => each one deals 50 MUGEN damage
  => each takes 1 hit to "destroy"
- Chair (1)
  => each one deals 100/150 MUGEN damage
  => each takes 6 hits to "destroy"
- Knife (3)
  => each one deals 100 MUGEN damage
  => each takes 5 hits to "destroy"
- Picture (1)
  => each one deals 200 MUGEN damage
  => each takes 11 hits to "destroy"

* a mysterious glowing blue orb may appear if you are staying in the Poltergeist-obsessed room for too long!
* the mysterious glowing blue orb tries to follow you and kill you quick!
* you cannot harm the mysterious glowing blue orb at all!

After all the household objects are "destroyed", the Poltergeist spirit comes out of the Picture and tries to
escape the room through the window.  Once it has totally escaped, you win which means you are a successful Poltergeist Exorcist!

Lasting, if you are familiar with Splatterhouse1 then you should have realized there is a little surprise near the end
of this second 2nd boss fight heh heh............. Laughing

Man i think i found one of the best Bonus character ever (well still before rare akuma but i don't count him as a bonus), only reason i don't have bonus characters is because they appear in survival runs... (seriously imagine if you'd find a boss or 5 minigames subsequently wouldn't that be a bummer?)
I'd love to have minigames in my mugen as long as i could disable them for survival tough... riiiggghhht

here is a possible idea: when the candles fall, maybe some can start a fire that limits where you can go on screen for a short time?

Some feedback...

- I really love to see that Poltergeist is so close to the source game. Much respect!
- blue-ish hit effect on p2 does sometimes not occur when p2 is hit in the air, falls straight to the ground
- p2 sometimes get stuck in the lie down state on the ground after some hits in the air (tested it with different chars)
- nitpicking, but magenta spot can be seen in the continue screen

- suggestion... add both stage tracks to the char and loop them correctly, then add a config to choose which song to use. I don´t like that both themes are rather short, so they stop and start again in a normal fight with a silly pause inbetween.

Again, great stuff from you borewood.

btw... will you update your old stuff like p.e. Hell Chaos?

Would love to see Biggy Man from you.

I have all the 2DFM95 Muscle Fight Cobra materials ripped already (I released those rips too but nobody seems to be interested in mugenizing a 2DFM95 Muscle Fight Cobra so now I have to do it myself...). geek
But I don't quite like the 2DFM95 Muscle Fight Cobra game play so this time I will make my own MUGEN game play for my Custom 2DFM95 Cobra.  Because of that, I need to spend some time on some sprite editing by my baby-level Franken-spriting skill....... Embarassed

In the 2DFM95 Muscle Fight, Cobra is a 3-button character - a punch button, a kick button, and a Psychogun button.  I hope I am able to Franken-sprite him into a 4-button character.  And I will try to find some reference from "Cobra the Animation - The Psychogun".  Well, will see how it goes..........so stay tuned! Wink

And this of my current MUGEN WIP is one of my MUGEN contributions to the upcoming 2016 mid-May MMV's Birthday Event #4. Very Happy

Oh perhaps the MUGEN HitDef's are having some wrong setting........I will try to fix that for sure...

If you wanna do a 2.0 version, I have a suggestion...
Instead of the chair bouncing around on the ground, change it up and let it jump upside down from the ceiling. You could even alternate that, first it attacks from the ground, after some hits the cair is on the top of the room.

I would love to see Biggy Man as a boss char just like Poltergeist, more like a recreation from the source game battle. yes

There are two (2) Cobra's in MUGEN to my MUGEN knowledge, both have different features.
And I want my MUGEN Cobra to be as unique as possible.
Since the 2DFM95 Muscle Fight Cobra's moveset is quite limited (a 3-button fighter), I want to make my MUGEN version a 4-button fighter but there are not enough available sprites so I try to do more Franken-spriting on the sprites than before. 

But, I don't know Jack about spriting, and my Franken-spriting skill level is just 0.08%, so it takes much more longer than I expect.  Like, I seldom ask for sprites help but for this Cobra MUGEN WIP of mine, I need to ask MMV cool Sprite Artists for help and good thing MMV folks are so helpful and with their big sprite-edit help I think I can add some source-anime feature to my MUGEN Cobra, like the motor-bike one (which is not available to both currently available MUGEN Cobra's) I plan to add to that:
