PostSubject: Can anyone tell me how to decrease the size of a regular sprite to match one that is allready in a sprite sheet?   December 29th 2014, 10:23 am

Hello everyone in multiverse :-H!

I'm here requesting for some assistance on a dilema that I'm having. I would like to know if anyone knows how to decrease the size of a sprite to match another sprite in a sprite sheet, without compramizing the sprite itself i.e. making it look blurrier and uglier than when it was bigger and or should I say less detailed. How do I do that? Is there a software out there that can do that or can you do it in Fighter Factory or what? I would most appreciate the help and advice of anyone who knows anything about this. Thank you guys for reading this. Peace

I am trying to resize the animation on the right (with the magenta background) to the size on the left (violet background). Without losing any details in the process. Is there anyway to do this or even come close to at least looking decent and with good details? If so please let me know. I will much appreciate it a whole lot. Thanks for you time. Peace

They doens't seem to differ much in size, tried to rezise them by hand in paint and it look good, try to rezise them by hand, select one of the images with the select tool on the right, compare with the left one and try to shrink a bit the image (not to much, or you loose too much detail), then (if it needs) you can always draw in the sprite.

Here's how it came out to me:

If it didn't look good enough, you can always come here: in here lies a program that does a great job

I also have this "pain-in-the-butt" image resizing issue...........well, normally I use my image editor (PSP7.0) to resize and sharpen after resizing when necessary:

Of course RotSprite recommended by O Ilusionista and Mistah Jorge works great too!

in case imgur not working for you...:

thanks a lot guys. I will try out both ways. that'll save me lots and lots of time. Of course you guys know this all ready. Now I have another question for you guys and it's similar to the size problem I've asked you.
How can I transfer colors from one sprite animation to another sprite animation that I would like to have the color pallete on that sprite animation or animations? Is there a program or a way to do this with not doing it by hand one by one? Thanks again for you patience. Peace

When it comes to colors and palettes, I am a total idiot.

I might put totally unrelated sprites altogether, then use the "Save Palette" to get the new PAL file, then apply the new PAL to all of the unrelated sprites

in case imgur not working for you....:

The sample new PAL for my above demo image looks like this:
Code:
