Templates are not an issue its the bug testing or lack off that are, eoh has a bad rap, really don't know why? Ive had some trouble in the past with getting my work tested, this is probably why the characters ive made are not as good, ive got antman, havok, lady deathstrike all on that template ( there could be more but i can't remember) i generally am looking for a character that very similar to what im making, when i choose a template (of course with permissions before i start) if it happens to be a eoh template then so be it
black panther is actually off a avx template

In my opinion I think that Templates in general are disliked because of the style really.

Personally I am not too fond of IMT's hitsparks, and hyper graphics, and the sound fxs it comes with.

Though I can't see anything wrong with the gameplay or controls; which I believe is essential for building characters.

It's not a real problem though because it's just a template and you can literally change the whole thing.

Personally I believe it's just a preference thing. Some people like the scruffy template more or the CVG one, others prefer SFA, and some just don't want it in any of that except in the very popular and common CvS styles.

Yeah i know you what your saying ax, templates are a preference thing, everyone kicked up a massive stink, when i used lady deathstrike on eoh template, so im like, i really don't see a difference, then used it for havok, but now im more into other templates simply because of what characters im making and for what purpose, when before i was just releases

I never saw anything wrong with your templates it seemed fine with acey alexiq and arkady to me

i'm really interested in seeming him in avx template...I think I like it a little more.

I dont remember playing anything other than Kongs EoH characters,and they were really bad
Search ChainsawDentist on youtube,he has a video showing how bad Kongs stuff is


Also,the original eoh template had an easy infinite in which you just need to hold forward and press punch,over and over,till the opponent dies

I think those are a couple of reasons EOH template and gameplay are disliked on other forums

Well I'm not sure about kongs work, i might have some in my personal roster, but can't remember? I mostly have the bulk of px and avx characters that i play with, some are still off of the older eoh template. But whatever infinites and bugs were in the original template. I really don't see them in these incarnations
ive been working on now. (maybe lady deathstrike, or havok carry those faults) id have to re check one day soon

Hey there hyper long time no hear, you can but i had finished him about, a week ago, just getting some testing done, but I'm all for it, if your keen, you know the bases right, chuck it together I'll fix up the SP after to match the rest

To be honest the templates play a great role on the character. Temple as contain auto push backs so that it will prevent infinites. Launcher velsets and other things essential to air combos. Damage dampener and other things essential to "good" characters. To be honest though the biggest things are innovations. I've seen some of your characters and for the most part the ones you spirited yourself seemed to have lacked innovation. A lot of times being simple pal swaps. Ant man is a perfect example of that. Although it had innovation it did lack the basics to individualize itself from other characters in other words it was still essentially cyclops in cos play. I mean I know capcom did it with the likes of war machine and ironman but I think as a community we can strive to be better than that.

And no offense to Ax I really enjoy your sprite work your characters no matter what the template just does not focus properly and on its initial releases have a bunch of bugs. But you really Have great sprite work. I actually thing you two guys would make a really great team if you focus on innovation as well as great sprite work you guys would prob be a jugernaunt of a creation team.

I really am looking forward to your black panther as I hope it has what innovation the past characters did not. Because at the end of the day that's what's gonna set you away from the pack instead of another... here we go again creator. Look past the +1 character and grasp the break feedback and that what moves us forward. Log air is the undisputed king of co if creators not that you should try to be better than him but try to be better than your self and as fans.we will repay for it. Because that's who your making the characters for right? Good luck can't wait to try him out.

arkady always something different about his chars

ex antman resizing

maybe he'll have it where BP can walk on the side of the wall upright..similar to z's wolverine but not climbing just walking...do to his vibe boots he can walk along walls and on water and maybe pounce from that posistion

Verz is pretty good at doing that, making up new moves entirely.

It's something that perhaps we all need to try to do more of concerning innovation.

I think a bunch of guys could infact do all the sprites from scratch . I would even go as far as saying better. And to be honest capcoms system isn't the most perfect it has balance isseues and gameplay problems even in its most recent incarnations of the series. I would even go as far as saying a bunch of sprites I've seen improve on the anatomy of their creations.

@ Waracus that actually left a lot to be desired. Most of the resizing moves had the same function as a charging attack. I think a bit more thinking about what the function of each move would do would have made it a much better character not to mention if he's gonna use all cyclops basic hits he prob should of used all the sprites. And to me that just kills it right there.

But this is about black panther I am hyped for it. I definitely am expecting some really unique basics and some really cool innovative specials instead of generic projectiles and "power armor". Black panther is a very versatile character there is a ton you can do with him. And I can't stand the "limitations of MUGEN" excuse. As we seen time and time again its really only limited to our imaginations I've seen about everything possible done with this engine as far as gameplay goes. But we shall see I will eagerly be waiting for this one. But knowing hypersonic was helping out is a plus the works he has been apart of have turned out really good especially sonic. I'm hoping for character of the year status with BlackPanther.

well, I think since its there are sooooo many limitations in mugen I cannot guarantee you'll enjoy my current beta of black panther (just jokes), but I can say he does launch from walls, he has throwing blades (yes that's generic Sad ) he isn't Cyclops based, but I have another wip that is, actually Cyclops based (antman was based off of acey's banshee) of course they seem similar, but I enjoy the banshee model, coz it's not overly complicated, (especially regarding the basics) which was why antman was very quick to put together, (spritewise I still need to add his famous gloves/boots, and thin him out a bit)
but as the first release I really wanted to get a version working that had the versatile specials, then do more clean up work on a another release, (same as invisible woman, still being re worked)

Black panther is a bit more evolved for the sprite style is very unique, in comparison to any other edited characters that I've seen not exactly a base that is used often (don't know why, but I suppose  it comes down to what your making)

I'm happy with how it turned out, but I know there is a long way to go to perfect him more so
i'm going to get someone to post a vid soon cheers
